In this talk Suzanne will explore her work as a climate activist and creative challenging corporations, banks, and governments investing in highly polluting fossil fuels in the Alberta tar sands, the Arctic, Gulf of Mexico, and Nigeria. She will highlight the decolonial design practices she uses in her works that span from shutting down petrol stations to commissioning life-size sculptures in solidarity with frontline communities resisting extractivism. This session will invite us to question the culture of art and activism to challenge the white supremacy and oppression that can often take hold of climate movements themselves.
