Winter Land Meditations

SAALT is hosting a brown-bag lunch webinar on Climate Justice, exploring ways to invoke and protect the lands we reside on as activists of color, immigrants, and occupiers of Indigenous Turtle Island. With the election of Joe Biden and the Paris Accords back on the table, it is more important than ever that we unite to demand land justice, through and beyond the ballot.

Our facilitators -- Jayeesha Dutta (Board Member, SAALT), Suzanne Dhaliwal (Co-Founder, No Tar Sands), and Maya Bhardwaj (Organizers) -- will lead an explorative meditation on the lands we come from, live on, and move to, to enrich each of our individual, organizational, and cross-diasporic strategies for liberation and justice.

Regardless of our areas of work, which span topics from protecting survivors of domestic violence to ensuring digital security, we have infinite opportunities to demand protections for the lands we inhabit. We hope that this space will encourage South Asians to rethink those relationships, and more explicitly include it in their work and advocacy.

RSVP at bit.ly/winterlandmeditation to receive an invitation.
